We’re here to help.
What are the requirements to be part of YES Indy?
Anyone from the ages of 16-24 living in Indianapolis who is not enrolled in school, is not currently working, or is seeking better opportunities is welcome and encouraged to enroll and receive training to find a goal and achieve it.
Do I have to pay for any of YES Indy’s services?
No. All our services are free, including High School Equivalency classes, job training and employment and financial coaching.
Does YES Indy help me go to college in any way?
YES Indy provides you with mentors who can help you find a path to college, but YES Indy does not provide any financial assistance for college. We understand that college isn’t the right path for everyone; other programs might provide education beyond high school that prepares participants for well-paying jobs.
How does YES Indy help me find a job?
Once you complete your training, YES Indy will use our Employer Champions to connect you with the appropriate employment opportunities.
Where do classes and job training take place?
Class and training locations vary. Some may take place at your select community hub, while others take place off-site where specialized training is needed.
How long do classes and training take to complete?
Class and training completion vary. However, YES Indy aims to have participants trained and ready to work in 14 weeks.
What if I don’t complete the first time I enroll – can I resume the program?
You can always re-enroll in classes and trainings so long as you are under the age of 25.
What happens if I’m younger than 16/older than 24?
For those older than 24, please refer to the list of Work-Based Learning programs on EmployIndy’s Resources page.
What is YES Indy REC?
YES Indy RECs are centers where opportunity youth can hang out, play games and eat food, while also learning more about educational opportunities, workforce development training, and job placement services.
